Ladies and Gentlemen :

　　Good afternoon! I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is “youth”. I hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it.

　　First I want to ask you some questions:

　　1、 Do you know what is youth?

　　2、 How do you master your youth?

　　Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .

　　Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals.

　　Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .

　　Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

　　When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.

　　又是一天深夜，在抗住了八九點(diǎn)的困意并且寫完了其他作業(yè)后的我開始完成今天最艱巨的任務(wù)——英語(yǔ)演講稿。打開電腦，原本想在之前寫過(guò)的稿子上(盡管只寫了開頭，而且句子太長(zhǎng)不適合當(dāng)演講稿)進(jìn)行修改，進(jìn)入桌面，這才發(fā)現(xiàn)原來(lái)文件被存在另外一個(gè)電腦里，已經(jīng)不可能拷貝過(guò)來(lái)了，我偏偏又不記得自己寫了些什么。

　　無(wú)奈之下，我又盯了很久的桌面，卻又一直沒能找到Word的圖標(biāo)，突然，我想起來(lái)它要打開已有的文件再進(jìn)到新文件。我看了看右下角的時(shí)間，5分鐘過(guò)去了，我連標(biāo)題都還沒打呢。我之前從來(lái)沒寫過(guò)這一類文章，看來(lái)今晚注定又是一個(gè)不眠之夜。我翻開了之前去培訓(xùn)時(shí)所寫下的筆記�？戳丝慈匀粵]有什么思路。要不就憑自己的感覺隨便試試?我寫了個(gè)引子，然后又在開頭試著提出質(zhì)疑：兩個(gè)問句，接著順著回答來(lái)寫。現(xiàn)在文章的思路已經(jīng)基本上出來(lái)了：就是接著往里面填內(nèi)容了。

　　雖然在寫之前就準(zhǔn)備好了素材，寫的'時(shí)候還是得在翻譯界面和輸入頁(yè)反復(fù)切換。這時(shí)，我真的非常質(zhì)疑自己的英語(yǔ)水平：這個(gè)單詞可不可數(shù)?這個(gè)單詞到底什么意思?有沒有這種用法?句子怎樣才能寫的長(zhǎng)短適中?連接詞用哪一個(gè)?……幸好Word自帶有檢查的程序，要不然我又會(huì)因?yàn)椴皇煜ゆI盤打字而錯(cuò)誤百出了。

　　寫完稿子已經(jīng)很晚了，我關(guān)上電腦，檢查都懶得了，拉上眼罩呼呼大睡——修改是明天的事了。
