英語單詞學(xué)習(xí)：classified
今天要學(xué)的一個(gè)詞是： classified，意思是保密。
這跟class上課毫無關(guān)系。媒體報(bào)導(dǎo)說，布什總統(tǒng)明確表明要控告那些政府認(rèn)為非法掌握保密材料的人，也就是要"...prosecute individuals it believes unlawfully possess classified material."
每個(gè)政府都有保密文件 -- classified documents；保密信息 - classified information...等。但是，什么文件應(yīng)該保密，什么不應(yīng)該保密往往會(huì)引起爭論 -- which documents should be classified and which should not often gives rise to arguments. 所以有的時(shí)候政府會(huì)公開某些原來保密的材料 - to declassify some formerly classified materials。
