新年英語詩歌：The Years at the Spring

　　the year's at the spring ! --一年之計在于

　　the year's at the spring

　　and day's at the morn;

　　morning's at seven;

　　the hill-side's dew-pearled;

　　the lark's on the wing;

　　the snail's on the thorn:

　　god's in his heaven --

　　all's right with the world!

　　正值一年之春，

　　又逢一日之晨;

　　晨光走到了七點;

　　山腰掛著露珠;

　　云雀展翅高飛;

　　蝸牛爬上了荊棘:

　　上帝在自己的天堂里——

　　塵世間一派井然!

　　原詩每行兩音步(dimeter)。第一、二、五、六行中，第一音步為輕重格(iambic)，第二音步為輕輕重格(anapestic);第三、第七行中，第一音步為重輕輕格(dactylic)，第二音步為重輕格(trochaic);第四、第八行格律有所松動。值得注意的是末行第一音步(all’s right)為重重格(spondaic)，于語義有所強化。全詩的韻腳安排為abcd abcd. 譯詩每行三頓，但未能押尾韻。網(wǎng)上有譯者將起首兩行徑自譯為“一年之季在于春，一日之際在于晨”，雖整飭易誦，實與原詩句法、語氣不符。(倒數(shù)第二行由“上帝在他的天堂里”改譯為“上帝在自己的天堂里”，因為此行中的annunciatory “his”應得到強調。07.5.16)
